The Santa’s Grotto Experience

Santa's Grotto is now fully booked.

Kick-start the festive season with a visit to see the man himself in his magical grotto. Despite working hard all year preparing for the big day, Santa has taken time out of his mince-pie packed schedule to meet and greet families at Borde Hill and to hear what’s top of their festive wish lists.

🎄 Festive Fun in Santa’s Workshop

Lucky ticket holders will be greeted by one of Santa’s elves who will take them through to their Workshop where the festive fun begins. Here young visitors can craft a delightful decoration to take home and hang on their Christmas tree, and colour in a festive door hanger so Santa knows where to stop. They will also be able to make reindeer food to help guide Santa’s sleigh right to their doorstep.

🎅 Visit Santa in his Grotto

On the ring of Santa’s bell, it’s time for an audience with the great man himself. One of his merry elves will lead each family through to his magical grotto, where children will have their special moment with Santa. The man in red will be ready to listen to their Christmas wishes before giving out a present to each child.

🎟️ Good to know

Each 30 minute session is for a group of 15 children. The festive craft activities will take place as a group, with each child and their accompanying adult(s) seeing Santa individually to receive their present.

The event will be located in the Garden Marquee, which will be decorated to provide a magical setting, with tickets including same-day entry to the Garden and Adventure Playground so the festive fun can continue all day long.

Optional Extra - Kids Story Trail

For a small additional charge of £4 (Free to Members), children aged 3–8 years old can complete a festive story trail around the Garden.

The trail follows a circular route and includes a prize. It can be completed before or after your Grotto Experience and is available from 10am-3.30pm.

🐴 ‘The Pony Who Dreamt of Being a Reindeer’

Children can ignite their imaginations while exploring the Garden on an uplifting story trail about a spirited little pony who longed to be part of the Reindeer Sleigh Team, spreading joy around the globe at Christmas.

But wait, there’s a twist! The legendary Sleigh Team is grounded this year as a magical sleigh bell has mysteriously vanished. Enter Bella the Pony, fuelled by dreams of soaring through the skies alongside Santa’s reindeer, she embarks upon on a quest to locate the missing bell so that the magic of Christmas can remain intact.

Can Bella find the bell in time to save Christmas? Follow the story trail to find out the answer… the fate of the festive season rests upon her tiny hooves!
