Assistant Grower (3 Month Contract, Part Time)

The role: 
A new opportunity has arisen to support the Senior Grower at our new biodynamic market garden – The Growers Project – located at Sugworth Farm, a 40 acre farm on Borde Hill Estate.

You will be joining the project at an exciting time, gaining experience of both setting up and expanding a market garden, as well as general growing duties. You will assist the Senior Grower with all aspects of vegetable production from seed to harvest and tasks will include:

• Propagation
• Planting
• Harvesting
• Packing
• Weeding
• Pruning
• Bed preparation
• Working in polytunnels

The right candidate will feel confident working alone, as well as in a team and will understand the importance of working quickly and efficiently.

Your passion for biodynamic growing will be key in ensuring the plants are cared for and developed to grow delicious seasonal produce to be eaten on site or sold wholesale. This part-time role requires an immediate start and ends in December.

Salary: £12 per hour

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, with occasional weekend working
