Presented by Opera Brava, Britain’s Leading Outdoor Touring Company

Opera Brava bring to life two spectacular open-air opera performances accompanied by a chamber ensemble and set against the enchanting backdrop of Borde Hill’s Elizabethan House. Enjoy a gritty new production of Verdi’s Rigoletto, reimagined in the underworld of 1920s Birmingham, and Bizet’s fiery masterpiece Carmen, filled with irresistible melodies and emotionally charged drama.

Bring a chair and a picnic to enjoy this summer highlight in a setting as magical as the music itself.

Friday 17th July
7.30-10.30pm

Verdi’s ‘Rigoletto’

Set in the gritty underworld of 1920s Birmingham, this new production of Rigoletto draws inspiration from the rise of the ‘slogging gangs’ – street groups that later evolved into the infamous Peaky Blinders. Set against a backdrop of power, corruption and revenge, this bold retelling brings fresh intensity to one of opera’s most dramatic tales.
