Join us for a special event hosted by the Jensen Owners Club Sussex as they gather at Borde Hill to celebrate National Drive It Day.
This annual occasion, created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005, offers historic vehicle enthusiasts a unique opportunity to commemorate the One Thousand Mile Trial of 1900, which demonstrated the revolutionary potential of the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support for the historic vehicle movement, helping to keep transport heritage alive on UK roads.
Jensen’s, renowned for their production in West Bromwich and their celebrity connections, have earned a prestigious place among the world’s Grand Touring cars.
To honour this legacy, the club will showcase an impressive collection of these quintessential British vehicles, including the Interceptor, C-V8, 541, the iconic Jensen Healey, and even the famous Metallic Violet Jensen Interceptor, bought by Johnny Mathis for his special friend Caroline Rakusen. This car, one of only three in its colour, was used by Mathis while touring the UK, sometimes with fellow celebrities as passengers. Visitors will have the opportunity to see this rare car and meet its current owner.
Throughout the day, club members will be on hand to answer questions, share insights, and show you around their stunning cars. Don’t miss this fantastic chance to explore the beautiful Garden at Borde Hill, while experiencing the rich history and elegance of Jensen vehicles up close.
