Explore Borde Hill with your dog

Dogs are welcome throughout our Garden, Parkland and Woodland

Dog Walks

It’s no secret that we are huge dog lovers at Borde Hill and welcome them throughout our Garden, Parkland and Woodland at all times during our open season – we’ll even give your four-legged friend a free dog treat on arrival to make them feel welcome.

We also have water bowls at the Visitor Reception and in the seating area outside the Gardeners’ Retreat Cafe so they can enjoy a refreshing drink whenever needed.

To ensure all our visitors can enjoy their day out and to help protect our wildlife, flora and fauna, we just ask that you keep your dog on a short lead at all times and away from flower beds.

The only area that we ask visitors to keep dog-free, with the exception of assistance dogs, is the children’s Adventure Playground.

Help keep Borde Hill beautiful for everyone to enjoy by picking up after your dog. When done, please pop it in the general waste bins located outside of the Garden entrance, at Visitor Reception or by the Long Dell toilets.

Know?

Warren Wood was created in 1905 and contains many rare and exotic trees including Meliosma beaniana. One of the rarest trees in the world, ours is one of only 3 to be found in Britain - it was collected from China by the Plant Hunter Ernest H Wilson and planted at Borde Hill in the early 1900's.
