Gifts in Wills

Nurture a legacy of caring for nature by leaving a gift in your Will to Borde Hill

Leave a Lasting Legacy

With a history stretching back to the 16th century, here at Borde Hill we consider our work in centuries not decades, and we recognise our responsibility to enhance and protect this special place for the future.

Leaving even a small percentage of your estate as a legacy gift to Borde Hill can help ensure we continue our work to nurture and preserve our unique and important landscape for future generations to enjoy.

Why Gifts in Wills are Important

By leaving a legacy gift, you’ll directly support the care and conservation of one of the UK’s most important plant collections. Your support will help protect rare Champion trees and preserve the beauty of Borde Hill’s heritage-listed Parkland, ensuring these natural wonders continue to thrive in the future.

Your gift will also enable us to expand vital community-focused programmes in education and wellbeing, providing access to green spaces for our local community while inspiring future generations to cherish and protect our natural world.

Every gift, large or small, leaves a lasting impact. Together, we can protect our natural heritage and share its beauty with generations to come.

How to Leave a Legacy

Leaving a gift in your Will is straightforward. When you are ready to make or update your Will and wish to include a gift to Borde Hill, simply ask your solicitor to include the following essential information:

Name: Borde Hill Garden

Address: Borde Hill Lane, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, RH16 1XP

Registered charity number: 246589

Tailoring Your Gift

There are two kinds of legacy gifts you can leave to Borde Hill:

Residuary Gift
– a percentage of your estate after all other commitments have been settled

Pecuniary Gift
– a specific sum of money you wish to leave.

There are several ways you can support Borde Hill through a legacy gift. The most impactful type of gift for the Garden is an unrestricted gift which will allow us to allocate your donation to where it is most needed at the time.

If you prefer, you can specify that your gift be used for a particular purpose. If you have a specific area in mind, we would be happy to discuss how your gift can best support Borde Hill’s mission.

We recommend speaking to a solicitor or financial advisor to ensure your Will reflects your wishes.
