Folde Deeper: A One-Day Wellbeing Retreat

Step away from the everyday with restorative movement, breathwork, sauna, seasonal food and time immersed in nature at Borde Hill.

Folde Deeper

Folde Deeper is a full-day retreat series launching at Borde Hill, created by Folde founder Carl Faure, a leading yoga and movement teacher with 20 years’ experience, including 10 years at the helm of pioneering London studio Stretch.

Set within the estate’s beautiful grounds, the retreats will bring together restorative movement, breathwork, seasonal food, sauna, cold plunge, nature and deep rest. Each offers an opportunity to step away from the everyday and return feeling grounded, spacious and restored.

Taking place at Folde, a beautiful new movement studio within The Stables, each retreat will bring guests closer to nature through experiences designed to connect and restore. Alongside the studio, the newly launched Sauna Oreka brings the holistic benefits of a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge to the estate, set within woodland overlooking Borde Hill’s heritage-listed landscape and tranquil lake.

The first retreat, taking place on Saturday 17th October, will begin by giving you time to arrive properly, moving, breathing and settling into the body. From there, Carl will introduce some of the ideas at the heart of the Folde approach, exploring our relationship with the ground, strength, flow, space and the balance between effort and rest.

This is not a training course and no previous experience is needed. You do not need to be flexible, strong or familiar with yoga. Each practice is designed to help you feel more present, connected and at home in your body, with plenty of time throughout the day to pause and slow down.

You will share a generous seasonal lunch, spend time outdoors in the grounds of Borde Hill and experience our woodland sauna and cold plunge before bringing the day to a close around the fire.

Your retreat includes:
  • A full programme of guided movement, breathwork and relaxation practices.
  • A generous seasonal lunch.
  • Use of our woodland sauna and cold plunge.
  • Time to connect with nature in the beauty of Borde Hill.
  • Light refreshments throughout the day.
  • A closing fire circle.
  • Expert guidance from Carl Faure.

Our second retreat day, The Homecoming, will be hosted on Saturday 14th November in collaboration with Calli Popham. Find out more.

About Folde

Based in The Stables at Borde Hill, Folde is a place to move, rest and train naturally.

Its approach brings together three complementary disciplines: Forge, which builds functional strength; Floor, which combines mobility, breath and mindful movement; and Fallow, which focuses on restorative movement, stillness and recovery.

At Folde, these practices are not treated as separate pursuits but as parts of one integrated approach to moving well, building strength and recovering deeply. Its setting at Borde Hill allows the practice to extend beyond the studio, with the surrounding landscape becoming part of the experience.
