Music in the Garden – Brass Festival

Enjoy a day of uplifting brass music on the Azalea Ring by local non-contesting and youth brass bands.

Our popular Music in the Garden events return on selected Sundays throughout the summer, providing the perfect accompaniment to a sunny day. Sit back, bring a picnic and relax. Don’t forget your picnic blanket, deck chairs and a sun umbrella.

The Gardener’s Retreat Café and Coffee Shop will be on hand serving refreshments in the Garden and dogs on leads are welcome.

Sunday 28th July: Brass Festival

Enjoy a day of uplifting brass music hosted by SCABA, the Association for Brass Bands in the South East of England.

The Brass Festival will take place on the picturesque Azalea Ring with the sounds of local non-contesting and youth brass bands. From 10am to 4pm, each band will take the stage for a short concert set ranging from 20 to 45 minutes. The content, length, and ensemble makeup will be entirely at the discretion of the bands, promising a diverse and engaging day of music.

Whether you’re a seasoned brass aficionado or simply looking for a day of relaxation, there’s something for everyone to enjoy – why not bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Sunday 11th August: Swing Band - Harry's Tricks

Brighton-based swing band, Harry’s Tricks plays popular British and American music from the 1920`s, 30`s, and 40`s. Featuring Mike Potter on guitar and vocals, Leroy Horns Tenner Sax and George Berrills Double bass.

The Grand Central Trio, an established vintage jazz band based in Chichester, boasts an ever-expanding repertoire featuring great swing classics, grooving Latin tunes, and cool pop arrangements – creating the perfect soundscape for a sunny summer afternoon.
